
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Colgate junior guard Nicolas Louis-Jacques was named Patriot League PenFed Credit Union Men’s Basketball Player of the Week when the League office announced honors on Monday. Boston University freshman guard/forward Matai Baptiste received rookie of the week accolades.
Louis-Jacques collected Patriot League Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the first time after scoring 22 points and grabbing three rebounds in Colgate’s loss at Harvard on Wednesday.
Baptiste received Patriot League Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week for the first time after averaging 11.5 points on 45 percent (5-of-11) shooting from beyond the arc during the Terriers’ 1-1 week.
American sophomore guard Geoff Sprouse, Army West Point freshman forward Josh Scovens, Lafayette junior guard Devin Hines and Loyola Maryland senior forward Alonso Faure received honorable mentions for their performances last week.
The Patriot League men’s basketball players of the week are selected in a vote by League media members and each school’s men’s basketball sports information director, who is not eligible to vote for their respective student-athletes.

*Louis-Jacques scored a career-high 22 points in the Raiders’ 76-70 loss vs. Harvard on Wednesday.
*He connected on 8-of-13 attempts from the floor, including 5-of-10 from 3-point range.
*The junior guard also added three rebounds, one assist and one steal. The junior guard scored 16 of his 18 points in the second half.
PATRIOT LEAGUE PENFED CREDIT UNION MEN’S BASKETBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Matai Baptiste, Boston University, Fr., G/F, Toronto, Ont./Orangeville Prep
*Baptiste averaged 11.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists to help Boston University go 1-1 last week, including a win against a Vermont State University Johnson.
*The freshman guard connected on 42.1 percent (8-of-19) from the field and 45 percent (5-of-11) from beyond the arc.
*The Toronto, Ontario native scored 13 points and dished out a season-high three assists and two rebounds against Vermont State University Johnson.

Geoff Sprouse, American, So., G, Pembroke Pines, Fla./Pembroke Pines
*Sprouse averaged 18.5 points to help American go 2-0 last week with wins against Mount St. Mary’s (W, 68-65) and Hood College (W, 103-74). He connected on 7-of-13 from long range against Hood, helping the Eagles make a single-game program record 19 3-pointers. He also averaged 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists off the bench in the Eagles’ two wins.

*Scovens averaged 11.5 points, shooting 45 percent (9-of-20) from the field and 50 percent (3-of-6) from 3-point range in Army West Point’s losses to Albany and Binghamton. The freshman forward finished with 11 points, five rebounds, one assist and one steal in a loss against the Great Danes on Tuesday. He finished with 12 points and four rebounds against Binghamton on Saturday.
Devin Hines, Lafayette, Jr., G, West Palm Beach, Fla./Saint Andrew’s
*Hines averaged 13.0 points and 4.7 rebounds in the Leopards’ three games at the Cathedral of College Basketball Classic at The Palestra. He finished with 17 points and three boards in the Leopards’ loss vs. Belmont. He led Lafayette with 14 points, six rebounds, two assists and three steals against Monmouth.
Alonso Faure, Loyola Maryland, Sr., F, Alicante, Spain/IES Fuente San Luis
*Faure scored 18 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field and 6-of-7 from the free-throw line in a 78-70 loss at Missouri. The senior forward pulled down eight rebounds and dished out two assists. He scored 16 of his game-high 18 points in the second half.
