Peachy Lady Boutique provides customers with high-quality, trendy fashion

Opening up a business was always a dream for Peachy Lady Boutique owner Lisa Vang.

When Peachy Lady Boutique, located at 604 3rd St., opened in mid-September 2022, Vang finally saw that dream come to fruition.

Originally from the Central Valley, Vang moved to Sacramento to attend Sacramento State, receiving her degree in business in 2010. While in college, Vang met her husband Fue Thao, who was attending UC Davis, leading her to eventually settle down in the city.

“I was always interested in the town and I loved it,” Vang said. “I love the small town feeling.”

Vang said she grew up always dressing up and interested in clothes, describing her own personal style as “feminine” and “casual.” Opening up the boutique provided Vang with a creative outlet, allowing her to further explore her passion for fashion.

“I feel like having your own certain style of clothes gives you more confidence compared to if you’re just wearing a regular t-shirt and shorts,” Vang emphasized.

Peachy Lady specializes in high-end quality and trend-setting styles, providing customers with a combination of feminine and dressy casual outfits. The chic boutique carries everything from the more affordable dresses, blouses and sweaters to higher quality jewelry, leather jackets, purses and pants. Vang said their most popular attraction for customers is those looking for wedding guest dresses, for which they have an abundance.

“I would say maybe that’s really our specialty,” Vang said about wedding guest dresses. “We get a lot of phone calls about that, but we also do carry lots of everyday clothes and clothes you can wear to work too.”

Vang and her husband are the buyers for the boutique, hand-picking every single item that is sold in the shop. She admitted her husband is usually the one to pick the more adventurous, colorful items.

“I like to take along my husband because he picks out the more interesting pieces that I would probably not be aware of for myself, but it works out for my customers because sometimes people do come in looking for that item that stands out,” Vang said. “He’s really good at picking out those items for me. I like more neutrals. He likes prints, patterns and pops of color. So me and my husband make a good team, buying and choosing items for our store.”

Coming up with the name was one of the more difficult aspects of getting the boutique running, Vang said. The couple came up with several names, but every time they went to register it, they found the name had already been taken by another business. Vang said they eventually settled on Peachy Lady because it was cute, catchy and easy to remember.

Outside of being business owners, Vang and Thao have two kids that are seven and nine. In their free time, they enjoy spending time together as a family, shopping and getting outside to enjoy nature by hiking.

Vang said she really enjoys having her shop in downtown as it gives her a chance to really get to know her customers, providing her with a strong sense of community and belonging. Vang explained she loves getting to pick out outfits she wouldn’t normally wear herself and watching as they become the season’s best seller.

“I just want people to experience a fun environment and place where you can feel safe to choose what you want to wear without anyone judging you,” Vang said.

Peachy Lady is open Tuesday through Thursday from 12 to 6 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
