‘Peaky Blinders’ Cillian Murphy Earns His First BAFTA Nomination


Cillian Murphy received his first nomination for a British Academy Television Award for his work in the final season of Peaky Blinders.

According to Deadline, Cillian Murphy will compete in the Leading Actor category for his work on all six critically acclaimed crime drama seasons.

Gary Oldman, another first-time nominee, is competing in the Leading Actor category alongside Ryan Murphy for his role as spy Jackson Lamb in the Apple TV+ series Slow Horses.

In 2007, the actor from Mission Anthropoid was nominated for the BAFTA Rising Star Award at the Film Awards.

Martin Freeman (The Respondent), Ben Whishaw (This Is Going to Hurt), Chaske Spencer (The English), and Taron Egerton are also nominated for Best Actor (Black Bird).
