Pedestrian dies after being struck by car in Nampa


Michael Lee Staelens, 65, of Nampa was identified by the Ada County Coroner’s Office.

BOISE, Idaho — A Nampa man died after he was hit by a car Wednesday afternoon.

The Canyon County Coroner’s Office identified the man as 65-year-old Michael Lee Staelens from Nampa.

The incident happened around 5 p.m. in the 2000 block of Caldwell Boulevard, the Nampa Police Department said. The Canyon County Paramedics took Staelens to the hospital, and he died of his injuries. 

Police are still investigating the incident.
