Pedro Pascal Is ‘Eager’ to Work with Director Matt Shakman for His Marvel Debut

Pedro Pascal is excited to begin his Marvel journey after winning a SAG Award for outstanding performance by a male actor in a drama series.

Pascal and Vanessa Kirby were confirmed in February 2024 to play Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic and Sue Storm/the Invisible Woman in Marvel’s The Fantastic Four film.

They would be joined by Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/the Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/the Thing to complete the titular quartet.

The Last of Us star expressed his enthusiasm for the job, telling Access Hollywood, “[I’m] beyond excited, especially to be in that cast, more than anything, with that director Matt Shakman.”

He went on to say, “To be invited into a family like that is a dream come true, and I can’t wait to spend all of my time with them.”

The cast news came on Valentine’s Day, when Marvel Studios confirmed the release date for the third big screen incarnation, July 25, 2025.

The first film was released in 2005, with Chris Evans playing Johnny Storm in Fantastic Four, followed by Rise of the Silver Surfer in 2007.

The film was revived in 2015 as Fantastic Four, starring Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell.
