Penn College automotive programs reaccredited

Williamsport, Pa. — The Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Foundation has reaccredited six programs offered by Penn College’s School of Engineering Technologies.

Associate degrees in automotive technology, automotive technology: Honda PACT, collision repair technology and diesel technology, as well as certificates in collision repair technician and automotive service technician received the coveted recognition.

The ASE Education Foundation is a nonprofit that evaluates and accredits entry-level automotive technology education programs based on standards developed by the automotive service industry. All the Penn College programs underwent rigorous evaluation to receive the highest available level of accreditation from ASE.

“We are thrilled to receive reaccreditation for our programs, which affirms our commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement,” said Joanna K. Flynn, vice president for academic affairs and provost. “This recognition reflects the dedication of our faculty, staff, and students in maintaining the highest standards. We look forward to building on this achievement and continuing to provide exceptional learning opportunities for our students.”

There are currently 169 students enrolled in the six programs that earned reaccreditation.

“Accreditation is a vital process to determine if academic programs are meeting the highest of quality standards established by industry professionals,” said Bradley M. Webb, dean of engineering technologies. “Having our programs reaccredited results from the outstanding curriculum, instruction and facilities we offer at Penn College. We are very proud to receive this mark of excellence. It is well-deserved.”
