Pete Buttigieg Speaks Out Against Mike Pence’s Homophobic Joke

Former Vice President Mike Pence made a homophobic joke over the weekend about U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s recent paternity leave. Buttigieg responded that he had more important things to worry about than “the Washington game.” An ABC transportation reporter, Gio Benitez questioned Buttigieg directly if Pence owed him an apology. Buttigieg responded, “I’ll let others talk to it. It’s funny because the last time I saw him, he asked me about my children as any regular person would. He continued, “But, I don’t have much time to dwell on the Washington game since we have an actual job to accomplish here.” The interview segment first aired on Tuesday’s episode of The View.
