Pete Davidson Commits to NYC Fire Department Community Service

After a car accident in Beverly Hills four months ago, comedian Pete Davidson, who is 29 years old, is taking blame for what he did. After being charged with reckless driving in June, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has announced that Davidson has signed up for an 18-month diversion program.

Davidson has agreed to meet certain requirements as part of this scheme. He has to do 50 hours of community service, which he has decided to do at the New York City Fire Department. This choice means a lot to him because his late father, Scott, was a firefighter at the department and tragically died during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

In addition to doing community service, Davidson has to finish 12 hours of traffic school and attend educational classes at a hospital or morgue. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office also says that he has to pay back what he stole and follow all rules.

The New York City Fire Department has told Davidson that they will accept him with open arms and give him a chance to do his community service with them.

“As the son of a 9/11 hero, we would be happy to provide Mr. Davidson an opportunity to do his required community service,” the statement said.

On March 4, Davidson’s car hit a fire hydrant in Beverly Hills, which led to the accident. His girlfriend at the time, actress Chase Sui Wonders, was with him when the accident happened.
