INDIANAPOLIS — The stars walked the red carpet ahead of the 108th Running of the Indianapolis 500 on May 26, 2024.

13News’ Laura Steele spoke with the following celebrities ahead of the race: 

  • Oscar nominee Austin Butler (“Elvis”) and Emmy winner Jodie Comer (“Killing Eve”), who co-star in “The Bikeriders” this summer. The two will wave the green flag as the honorary starters.
  • “American Idol” winner Jordin Sparks, who will sing the national anthem.
  • “American Idol” winner Phillip Phillips, who will sing “God Bless America.”
  • Baseball Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr., who will drive the pace car to lead the field of 33 IndyCar drivers to the green flag.
  • Actor Dylan Sprouse, the grand marshal of the race. His upcoming movie,” The Duel,” was mostly filmed in Indiana.
  • Rapper and TV personality Flavor Flav, who is supporting Will Power.
  • Indiana Fever legend Tamika Catchings, who was the grand marshal for the 2024 AES 500 Festival Parade.
  • Actor Drew Powell, who was born in Noblesville and grew up in Lebanon. He graduated from DePauw University.
  • Jim Cornelison, who will sing “(Back Home Again in) Indiana” for the eighth time before the race.
  • Paralympian Chuck Aoki, who won has won two silver medals and one bronze medal in rugby.
  • DJ Timmy Trumpet, who performed in the Snake Pit.
  • U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds
  • Sports reporter Lindsay Czarniak
  • Sports reporter Annie Agar
