DULUTH, Minn. — It’s not just football players who are scoring touchdowns this weekend.
Saturday, PJ’s Rescue and Team Nutrition held a puppy bowl adoption event, helping pups find their fur-ever homes.
People could grab a drink from Team Nutrition and get in their fix of puppy cuddles.
Team ruff and team fluff had rosters of adoptable pups, and many had applications submitted by potential owners during the event. Some of the dogs are even heading home next week.
When it came time to play ball on a mini football field, some of the pups went for the endzone, while some got a little distracted.
“We kind of have seen the idea around other rescues throughout the United States and we just thought it would be kind of fun. The Super Bowl is a big event, we just thought it would be a fun a fun little idea. And there’s footballs for the dogs to play and stuff too,” Katerina Anderson, Events Coordinator for PJ’s Rescue said.
Staff at PJ’s Rescue say events like the puppy bowl allow potential owners to meet with the dogs before submitting an application.
“We love being able to meet the people and make sure it’s a great fit for the dogs right. We want to make sure they go to great homes, and so it’s really great to be able to see these people in person, get to know them and have them connect with the dogs,” Anderson said.
If you missed the event but are still looking to adopt, you can apply online to adopt any of the dogs or cats at the rescue.
