Lisa, the Blackpink singer and pop phenomenon, has joined the cast of HBO’s hit series White Lotus for season 3.
In the third season of the popular HBO series, she will play Lalisa Manobal, her given name.
Her role in the third season, like all previous casting decisions, is kept under wraps.
Production on The White Lotus is set to begin in February in Bangkok, Phuket, and Koh Samui, Thailand.
Aside from the fact that it will follow a new group of tourists to a White Lotus resort property, detailed plot details are being kept under wraps.
The cast includes Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Tayme Thapthimthong, Christian Friedel, Julian Kostov, Morgana O’Reilly, Lek Patravadi, Shalini Peiris, Carrie Coon, Scott Glenn, Francesca Corney, Nicholas Duvernay, Arnas Fedaravičius, Natasha Rothwell, Walton Goggins, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aimee Lou Wood, Sarah Catherine Hook, and Sam Nivola.
Manobal will make her acting debut with The White Lotus. She is now Blackpink’s second member to appear in an HBO series. In June 2023, Jennie (billed as Jennie Ruby Jane) made her acting debut in the drama The Idol.
Blackpink, which includes Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, is one of the world’s most popular music groups.
They debuted in August 2016 with YG Entertainment’s single album Square One. Their song Boombayah topped the Billboard World Digital Songs chart, becoming the most-watched debut music video by a Korean act.
With Ddu-Du Ddu Du, they were the highest-charting female K-Pop group on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 55, and were the first K-Pop girl group to enter and lead Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart.
The quintet then collaborated with artists including Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga, Cardi B, and Selena Gomez.
