Just a few weeks after putting out his new album, AUSTIN, Post Malone stopped by the NPR office to do a great Tiny Desk Concert.
Posty didn’t start his show with a new song, but with his big hit Sunflower. The pop-rap hybrid got a sweet, bluegrass-inspired makeover with lush backup singers, strings, piano, and other instruments in the band.
After the song was over, Posty thanked NPR for inviting him. “I’m super excited to come on this show, and super nervous — I’m not, actually, never mind,” he said with a lot of snark. “I’m not nervous at all.”
Even though he was always being told to give his best singing performance, the passionate Dallas Cowboys fan sang his 2017 ballad “I Fall Apart” in an emotional way.
He ended the show with the 2019 song “Circles” and a brand-new song from AUSTIN called “Enough Is Enough.” Posty showed that he can run a small gathering just as well as a big venue full of people. He did this by making a lot of jokes along the way.
The singer is on tour right now. If you weren’t here, I would be crying.
