Precision OT’s Genesee ASIC Technology Honored by 2024 Lightwave Innovation Reviews

Precision Optical Technologies has announced that its Genesee Dispersion Compensation ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit) Technology has been distinguished among the best in the industry by the esteemed 2024 Lightwave Innovation Reviews — receiving a 4.0 honoree status.

The new ASIC will enable cutting-edge technologies such as 25G tunable transceivers.  The company’s technology and technique swap a single conventional component in an intensity-modulated direct-detect pluggable transceiver with a modified version that performs dispersion compensation. Furthermore, Precision OT’s groundbreaking pre-compensation ASIC can extend the reach of tunable 25G out to 40km and beyond. The ASIC is highly configurable, modulation agnostic, interoperable and expandable to other data rates.
