Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Can Do Business Without Royal Rank

As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle work to build their own brand in Hollywood, they are less interested in being associated with the royal family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex gave up their top royal positions in 2020 and went to the United States to raise their children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 2.

Clive Irving, a royal author and expert, told Express US that they no longer need their royal ties now that they are famous.

“Harry and Meghan’s celebrity [status] used to rest on the former’s connection to the Royal Family,” he told the site. “But they’ve now been celebrities in their own right for so long that they don’t need to trade on that anymore. That’s no longer part of their lives.”

Recently, the couple showed off their star power at Kevin Costner’s star-studded One805 charity fundraiser, which took place on Friday at the Yellowstone actor’s luxurious home.

One805 is an organization that was started in 2018. It helps first responders in Santa Barbara County with money and their mental health.

At the event, the Sussexes gave Costner a special award. Other guests included Oprah Winfrey, Adam Levine, and others.

The expert thought that Meghan probably won’t be seen at royal events because she doesn’t want to be seen with Prince William and Kate Middleton, especially now that she doesn’t need to “trade” on their royal position.
