To get into character as Priscilla, Jacorb Elordi had to consume a lot of bacon.
The ensemble of the recently released biopic, including protagonists Elordi, Cailee Spaeny, and director Sofia Coppola, sat down for an interview with Entertainment Weekly earlier this week, during which Elordi, who plays The King himself, revealed his pork-inspired method acting to impersonate Elvis Presley.
As the Oscar-winning director said that the biographical drama’s real-life Priscilla, 78, who also acted as an executive producer, told the filmmakers that “Elvis liked really burned bacon,” Elordi joined in.
“I averaged, like, a pound of bacon a day” he told me. “t’s not that noticeable ‘cause I’m quite long, but I was the biggest I’ve ever been,” the six-foot-five actor said.
But Elordi wasn’t the only one who wanted to give the Presleys’ representation justice.
Last month, at the New York Film Festival, the Kissing Booth actor praised his leading woman, Cailee, saying, “There is no gap in Cailee’s performance.”
The 25-year-old aspiring actor reportedly joked that she and Elordi were “good study buddies,” researching their characters and even quizzing one another.
On Friday, Priscilla was released in theaters.
