Provident Financial Holdings has named Chief Accounting Officer Tam Nguyen as its next finance chief.
The Riverside, Calif.-based community bank said Friday that Nguyen, who also currently serves as controller, would step into the role effective Jan. 2, when current CFO Donavon Ternes will become chief executive and president.
The bank said the post of chief accounting officer would be eliminated, and it would appoint a new controller at a later date.
Nguyen has been accounting chief since September 2022. She has also served as vice president and controller since October 2016, when she joined the company.
Provident Financial announced in late October that Chief Executive Craig Blunden would retire and become non-executive chairman, and be succeeded by Ternes. The position of operating chief, which was also held by Ternes, will remain unfilled.
