At House Beautiful, we love any shopping experience that offers a sense of discovery and feels inviting. There’s no better place (in my opinion) that gives this kind of euphoria than HomeGoods. It’s the perfect destination for finding a new table lamp, decorative glass vases, unique artwork, or even last-minute hostess gifts. Suffice it to say, we can spend hours browsing through this retailer—both in stores and online. However, the accessibility of shopping for affordable HomeGoods products online will sadly be a thing of the past very soon.
This month, the home decor brand confirmed that its online operations on HomeGoods.com will cease on Oct. 21, 2023, breaking the hearts of shoppers around the country. “We will stop taking orders from customers at that time and complete our final shipments,” the home retailer wrote in an official statement. “We are grateful for our passionate HomeGoods.com customers, and invite them to continue shopping for home fashion and decor at our more than 900 HomeGoods stores across the United States.”
Why, you may ask, would they take away people’s easy access to shopping area rugs, pillows, and other decor from the comfort of their own couch? It turns out, the company wants to focus more on the in-store experience and assist with the customers shopping there. The conclusion? After this week, if you want to purchase items from HomeGoods, you’ll need to drive or take your nearest public transportation to one of its stores.
More From House Beautiful
As stated, the company will keep their brick-and-mortar locations across the country, so you can still get that soothing feeling while perusing the different aisles. If you’ve been putting off a HomeGoods run, you’ll want to hurry and shop its marked down prices on furniture, bath goods, and stylish bedding online before Oct. 21. And once Saturday comes and goes, fill your HomeGoods online shopping void by checking out its sister stores T.J.Maxx and Marshalls. They may offer similar items to what you’re seeking, and their websites are still up and running, thankfully!
