Queensbury pair fall in Section II girls tennis semifinals

SCHENECTADY — Queensbury’s duo of Nicole Greenstein and Flavia Brizzi fell Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the Section II Girls Tennis doubles tournament at Central Park.

Greenstein and Brizzi, the No. 8 seeds, lost in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1, to Saratoga Springs’ top-seeded pair of Clare Dooley and Addison Jones, who advance to Monday’s semifinals.

On Tuesday, Greenstein and Brizzi won a pair of matches to advance to Wednesday’s quarterfinals.

Also Tuesday, the Spartans’ Tessa Murray and Lindsey Pepe split a pair of matches as a doubles team, as did both Maria Conway and Sedona Jones in singles action at the Section II Girls Tennis individual tournament.

The Greenwich pair Madalynn Curley and Julie Nolan defeated Hudson Falls’ Alex Hogan and Kyle Suprenant in the first round, before losing in the second round to Saratoga’s Dooley and Jones.
