Quincy Art Center appoints new executive director

QUINCY (WGEM) – A Quincy native has spent her career promoting art education all over the world. Now, she’s back in town full circle with a new role to fill.

On February 26, Sandra Hite was promoted as Quincy Art Center’s newest executive director. Former director Jen Teter is transitioning into a new position as full-time curator.

“I absolutely feel at home,” Hite said. “I feel like this is my purpose. And I think this is going to be one of the most exciting, engaging career opportunities that I’ve probably had.”

Hite hopes to take what she’s learned during her servant leadership roles in Europe and Asia and transfer those skills right here in her hometown.

“I have a great love of arts,” Hite said. “And I will talk about that with anyone who will listen! And, of course, you know, growing up here, I know the history, I know how influential Quincy Art Center is to the visual arts in the Tri-State area.”

Hite encourages everyone to visit the Quincy Art Center for it’s new free exhibition and to meet her.
