The Red Brick Center for the Arts is set to unveil two new exhibitions on Feb. 6, with an opening reception beginning at 5 p.m.
One of the featured showcases is the Aspen Cultural Vibrancy Fellows Exhibition, highlighting the work of the 12 artists selected for the Aspen Cultural Vibrancy Fellowship.
Launched by the city in 2024, the fellowship supported local artists financially, fostering innovation and creative exploration across various disciplines. The exhibition will display an array of artistic expressions, including filmmaking, music composition, and visual and sculptural arts.
Among the featured artists are Teresa Booth Brown, Kristin Braga Wright, Curt Carpenter, Samuel Harvey, Kevin Kaukl, Tammie Lane, Marilyn Lowey, Nika Meyers, Sandra Prado, Madeleine Scott, Mindy Vernon, and Lara Whitley.
“We are delighted to showcase the incredible works of artists who have been honored with this prestigious recognition from the city of Aspen,” said Sarah Roy, executive director of the Red Brick Center for the Arts. “These talented local creators are the heartbeat of Aspen’s dynamic arts and culture scene.”
Roy highlighted how these artists contribute to Aspen’s cultural landscape, from live performances to visual arts and education.
“They enrich our community in countless ways — whether performing with Dance Aspen and Aspen Polynesia, composing original scores for High Country Sinfonia, showcasing unique artworks at the Saturday Market, inspiring future artists through teaching, or creating pieces for local galleries,” she said. “This exhibition celebrates their remarkable contributions and the vibrant cultural tapestry of Aspen.”
Alongside the fellowship exhibition, the west gallery will feature “Shifting Perspectives,” a solo show by Eric Elliott.
His collection explores the transformation of everyday objects through impressionism and abstraction, with a distinctive use of light and shadow that challenges perception and brings each painting to life.
The city is inviting the entire community to experience these locally made works of art. The exhibitions offer a rare opportunity to engage with Aspen’s creative talent, discover new artistic perspectives, and celebrate the artists shaping the town’s cultural identity.
