Chris Rock is directing again.

Chris Rock has signed on to produce and direct Another Round, based on Thomas Vinterberg’s 2020 black comedy that won BAFTA and Oscar awards for Best International Film.

The film is a Fifth Season Makeready and Appian Way production.

Brad Weston and Collin Creighton are producing Makeready, while Jennifer Davisson and Leonardo DiCaprio are producing Appian Way. After Stuart Bloomberg has written a draft, they will employ a new writer to work with Rock.

Rock prioritises directing and adds it to an untitled movie he is writing with Peter Rice producing, as well as a Universal-based adaptation of King: A Life, Jonathan Eig’s book about Martin Luther King Jr.

With Top Five, which he also scripted and which earned the largest deal at the 2014 Toronto Film Festival when Paramount Pictures purchased world rights, Rock reinforced his reputation as a capable filmmaker.

Rock directed both I Think I Love My Wife and Head of State. He has also won three Grammys and four Emmys.
