Rep. Griffith announces $600k to VDOT for wildlife crossing sites

Rep. Griffith announced on Thursday that the DOT Wildlife Crossings Pilot Program has award VDOT $604,318 for wildlife crossing sites.

Griffith added that VDOT will develop a statewide plan to identify the roads with the highest risk of wildlife crossings collisions, and add crossing sites for the animals.

“This important funding will help the Virginia Department of Transportation create a plan to identify high-risk wildlife crossings and collision sites statewide,” Griffith said. “Identifying these potentially dangerous sites and developing improvement recommendations will help make roads safer for Virginians and animals alike.”
