Dozens of people are injured after a gas explosion in the centre of Johannesburg, local media reports.

Video shows cars turned upside down by the force of the blast and a large parts of the road destroyed.

Nine people were taken to hospitals around Johannesburg for minor and intermediate injuries, Gauteng provincial officials said.
