Hearst Television stations, including WISN-TV (Channel 12) in Milwaukee, have reached a deal with Dish Network, restoring the stations’ signals for Dish’s satellite TV customers, according to multiple news reports.
The Hearst stations have been dark on Dish since Sept. 8; Dish and Hearst’s previous retransmission deal had expired July 31.
At the time, Channel 12 President and General Manager Jan Wade issued a statement saying Dish’s negotiating team called for fees that were “below market rates.” Dish Network blamed the action, which affected 37 television stations in 27 local markets, on Hearst demanding higher rates that would be passed on to consumers.
There’s no word yet on the terms of the new retransmission deal.
