PORTLAND (WGME) — Word continues to spread that Portland is a culinary hot spot.
Next week, CBS13 is taking a deep dive into how the food scene in the Old Port has evolved.
From the creative award-winning dishes to the fresh local ingredients and how social media plays a role, you’ll hear from some of the people behind the booming restaurant business and their takes on what’s put Portland on the map.
“There are izakayas in Japan that buy fish from us,” Papi Co-Founder and Beverage Director LyAnaa Sanabria said. “Then we have the farms, and we have the mountains and there’s this really nice quaint little life that’s still connected to the Earth and at the same time, like bougie and delicious.”
Join Good Day Maine’s Katie Sampson on Wednesday at 7 p.m. on CBS13 as we explore how Portland became “Restaurant City” and where it goes from here.
