About 10 years ago, Belfast City Council announced that the city needed an additional 60,000 citizens to really get the economy rocking. Belfast, like any business or organisation, needs more diversity to succeed. Nothing succeeds like a range of skills and outlooks; the more the better. Shabby and a bit scraggy maybe, but Belfast is the great survivor, its bars and restaurants keeping heads above water, some of them thriving even.
