As a reviewer fortunate enough to indulge in its offerings, I can attest that NOTA is not just a restaurant—it’s a journey of flavours and sensations that leaves an indelible mark on the palate and the soul.

Upon stepping into NOTA’s welcoming embrace, one is immediately struck by the cosy ambiance that envelops the space. Swathed in earthy tones with Bohemian touches, the setting exudes an air of warmth and familiarity, inviting patrons to settle in and savour every moment.

But it’s not just the ambiance that captivates at NOTA—it’s the food. Led by the talented Head Chef Jack Yeoh, the kitchen team executes a culinary symphony that celebrates the finest ingredients and techniques. From the first bite to the last, each dish tells a story of passion and dedication, leaving diners craving for more.

I first stumbled upon this spot in Kota Kemuning a few months prior to this and explored NOTA’s brunch offerings, and I must say, they did not disappoint. The menu boasted a tantalising array of options, each crafted with precision and care. From fluffy sourdough pancakes drizzled with maple syrup to perfectly poached eggs nestled atop creamy avocado toast, every dish was a testament to their commitment to quality and flavour.

But it was during the evening that NOTA truly came alive, transforming into a haven for food enthusiasts eager to sample its renowned dinner menu. Led by Yeoh, the kitchen team showcased their expertise with a series of dishes that danced on the palate and left a lasting impression.

The Butcher’s Board, a wood-fire dining experience, was the undisputed star of the show. Featuring a curated selection of premium cuts sourced from around the world, it was a carnivore’s dream come true.

I had the pleasure of sampling the grain-fed Black Angus Ribeye and Tenderloin, both of which were cooked to perfection and infused with a smoky flavour that only a charcoal oven can impart. Each bite was a symphony of textures and tastes, perfectly complemented by the accompanying Bordelaise and Au Poivre sauces.

Speaking of accompaniments, NOTA certainly didn’t skimp on the sides. The Grilled Japanese Sweet Potato in Sour Cream and Dill provided a delightful contrast to the richness of the meats, while the Roasted French Vine Tomatoes added a burst of tangy sweetness to the palate. And let’s not forget the Baked Bread Roll with Garlic Herb Home-whipped Butter—a simple yet indulgent treat that served as the perfect vessel for mopping up every last bit of sauce.

Of course, no meal at NOTA would be complete without indulging in one of their delectable desserts. I had the pleasure of trying their mysterious ‘???’ cake, and let me tell you, it was a revelation. Combining the earthy sweetness of brown sugar with the creamy decadence of cream cheese and the irresistible crunch of Lotus Biscoff, it was a true symphony of flavours that left me longing for more.

One bite is all it takes to transport you to a realm of pure bliss—a sensation that lingers long after the last crumb has been savoured and to quote Ryan Reynolds in Free Guy – it tasted like ‘my tongue had a baby with a sunrise’ and I’m not overexaggerating it.

In short, NOTA is more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience that leaves an indelible mark on the palate and the memory. Whether you’re a connoisseur of fine dining or simply seeking a culinary adventure, NOTA is a destination worth exploring. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
