The Turkish restaurant can be found in Bank Street and after noticing it’s appealing exterior whilst walking through the town centre on a sunny Thursday afternoon, I felt compelled to step in for a bite.
As soon as you walk in the premises, you’re greeted by not only the friendly staff but by the colourful and tasteful aesthetic of the restaurant.
The space was much larger than I thought it was going to be and I was shown to my table located near the front right window.
Once seated, I was excited to discover what Mediterranean delights awaited.
With Mosaic being well-known as a grill, meze, and bar, there were a whole host of tasty looking dishes in the menu that could satisfy my lunchtime hunger.
True to the grill, meze, and bar tagline of Mosaic, there were so many different options to pick.
A meze is a selection of hot and cold dishes that are served as appetisers.
The menu boasted meze dishes like cacik (creamy strained yogurt with cucumber, mint, dill, and garlic), pan fired halloumi cheese, sucuk (traditional spicy turkish sausage) and much more.
In terms of main courses, there were also grilled special kebabs, seafood, pasta, and vegetarian dishes available as well.
However, I decided to go straight for the falafel wrap with hummus, lettuce, fresh herbs, cucumber, peppers and onion.
After ordering, I was toing and froing whether I had made the right decision, but any thought of doubt soon evaporated as it was easily one of the most delicious wraps I have eaten in a long time.
I polished the wraps off with the accompanying side of chips and a coke, while tasting the chili and garlic sauces that come as part of the meal.
A great surprise was the excellent service throughout my short but very enjoyable lunchtime visit to Mosaic.
Prior to ordering my meal, I spoke to the courteous waiter that was looking after to me and explained that I was worried I may be rushed for time as I had to go to a meeting in 30 minutes.
Amazingly, the staff member assured me there would be no delays and that it would not be a problem.
After a reasonable wait, my meal arrived, and I still had plenty of time to pay and leave for my meeting.
For a meal and drink that set me back only £12.65 in total, I made the right decision popping into Mosaic and would happily visit again.
