With dozens of actors in Providence for Rhode Island Comic Con, there were bound to be some celebrity sightings around town.
After all, Providence is a foodie city, and they have to eat. Who wants to miss out on eating Italian food at a Federal Hill restaurant? Or getting a late-night bite of one of Providence’s many other institutions.
Not these celebrities.
Here are some of the celebrity sightings around Providence this weekend posted to social media. And feel free to send us any we may have missed!
‘The Incredible Hulk’ Lou Ferrigno spotted at this well-known Italian restaurant
Not covered in green body paint, it would be easy to miss Lou Ferrigno out for a meal. But even not done up as the Incredible Hulk, Ferrigno was spotted at Capriccio Restaurant. The classic downtown spot is known for its Italian food.
‘Beverly Hills, 90210’s’ Shannen Doherty knows where to go for a late-night meal
Haven Brothers Diner, a Rhode Island tradition since 1938, couldn’t help but post on their Instagram when Shannen Doherty, from the television show “Beverly Hills, 90210,” stopped by for a late-night snack of wieners and fries. The star took a picture with the crew working.
The diner is an icon in its own right, having been featured on the The Today Show, NPR and Man vs. Food.
‘How I Met Your Mother’ star Josh Radnor played some music at one well-known local brewhouse
You might know Josh Radnor from his role as Ted Mosby on the television show “How I Met Your Mother,” but the actor is also a musician, with his debut solo album coming out later this month.
While in town for RI Comic Con, he took the opportunity to play a free show at Trinity Brewhouse on Friday night. The show was announced on the Comic Con’s official Instagram the day of, but other than that heads up, it was largely a surprise.
‘The Mandalorian’s’ Chris Bartlett was shown around Providence by local cosplayer ‘Rhode Island’s own Peter Griffin’
Taking advantage of looking a lot like Peter Griffin from “Family Guy,” Stevie Oaks, of Woonsocket, is a cosplayer who impersonates the character with a TikTok following that exceeds one 1 million. His proximity to Providence also made him an ideal dinner companion if you’re looking for a good spot.
On Friday, Oaks went out to dinner with Chris Bartlett, plays various droids in “The Mandalorian,” “The Book of Boba Fett,” “Obi-Wan Kenobi” and “Ahsoka.” Joined by Oaks’ wife and Katie Castagna Neumann, the group went out to dinner at Costantino’s Venda Bar and Ristorante in Federal Hill.
