Nancy Arnfield, for many years a much-loved professor of humanities and performing arts at Macomb County Community College, is back on the boards this weekend.
Arnfield is the guest director for a production of the Neil Simon comedy “Barefoot in the Park” by Troy’s Ridgedale Players, which opens Friday, Nov. 3 and runs through Nov. 12.
“Barefoot” premiered just over 60 years ago, in October 1963 on Broadway, and was made into a film in 1967.
Arnfield notes that, “As one would expect from Neil Simon, ‘Barefoot’ has considerable humor … but also some delicately presented lessons about judging people carelessly, and the benefits of compromise and taking a chance on new experiences.”
Arnfield directed “Barefoot” once before and played the part of Paul Bratter’s mother.
Ridgedale Players is located at 205 W. Long Lake Road.
