Rihanna won the red carpet at the Met Gala on Monday night by being “fashionably late” to the max. Almost an hour had passed since E! Live from the Red Carpet stopped.

The footage on the Vogue livestream had also stopped. Rihanna and her partner, A$AP Rocky, were seen going into the Carlyle Hotel in New York City hours before. Rocky finally left the hotel after everyone else had arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the biggest night of fashion of the year. Rihanna walked out of the Carlyle in a brown fur coat from Fendi’s fall/winter 1997 ready-to-wear line that was too big for her. But when she showed up at the Met for the Karl Lagerfeld dinner, she was wearing a white Fendi dress with a train and an ivory top with rosettes that framed the top half of her body.

A$AP Rocky was dressed in Gucci and wore a kilt over jeans instead of going commando, which is the usual way for Scots to dress.
