River Arts Alliance to hold Souper-Duper Pie Walk Dec. 1

Local arts organization River Arts Alliance (RAA) is holding a special celebration and fundraiser event, the Souper-Duper Pie Walk, for the first time this year. This fun evening on Friday, December 1, will include a soup supper, a pie auction, and a program honoring five local individuals as “Champions of the Arts.” Please join us at Sobieski Park Lodge to share a meal, celebrate RAA’s history and ongoing work, and contribute to the organization’s annual year-end fundraising campaign.

The event will run from 5:30 to 8 p.m., with the meal served from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., the pie auction beginning at 6:30 p.m., and the program and social time from 7 to 8 p.m.. Sobieski Park Lodge is located at 965 East Seventh (Wabasha) Street, Winona. Tickets are $20 with pre-registration or $25 at the door without pre-registration. All payments can be made at the door with cash or check; registration is encouraged to help plan for attendance numbers. Register online at riverartsalliance.org/souper-duper-pie-walk-registration.

The meal will include a choice of several homemade soups, bread, butter, coffee, and apple cider. Bid on a pie in the pie auction to enjoy for dessert with your table or to take home for later!

This year, in recognition of the first 15 years of the organization’s history, RAA’s Board of Directors has decided to begin a process of honoring “Champions of the Arts.” These are people, past and present, who have made a significant impact on the arts and culture in the Winona area. The first five Champions of the Arts, who will be recognized at the December 1 event, are foundational leaders who helped create River Arts Alliance and/or helped grow the organization to what it is today: Vicki Englich, Julia Crozier, Heidi Bryant, Greg Peterson, and the late Bernadette Mahfood.

If you can’t attend the Souper-Duper Pie Walk but would like to support RAA’s work, monetary donations are always welcome online at riverartsalliance.org/support or by sending a check to River Arts Alliance, PO Box 992, Winona, MN 55987. All contributions help support RAA’s day-to-day operations, as well as helping the organization have the capacity to put on public arts events, including Family Art Day, the Winona Art Walk & Tour, the Annual Member Exhibit & Showcase, Art Schmoozes, artsXchanges at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum, and more.
