Tinley Park police responded Wednesday at 3:25 p.m., for a reported armed robbery in the parking lot of the WoodSpring Suites Hotel, 18636 West Creek Dr. in Tinley Park.
A 41-year-old male hotel guest was inside his car in the hotel parking lot, when he was approached by two men in ski masks. One flashed a black semi-automatic handgun, police said. The victim got out of the vehicle, and was then punched in the back of the head by one of the suspects. He ran away from the vehicle, police said.
The suspects took the victim’s wallet and cell phone, then fled in a silver Infiniti X50, which was later learned to have been stolen out of Dolton the day prior.
Tinley Park Police detectives with assistance of the Chicago Police Department were able to locate and recover the suspect’s vehicle, which was unoccupied in the 6000 South block of Vernon Dr. in Chicago.
The investigation is ongoing.
