Rock and Roll Hall of Famer to play Utica concert

A Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is returning to Central New York this spring.

Alice Cooper will perform at the Stanley Theatre in Utica on Thursday, May 22. No opening act has been named for the concert, which starts at 8 p.m.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Feb. 14, at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

Cooper, 77, is a rock singer behind hits like “School’s Out,” “No More Mr. Nice Guy” and “Feed My Frankenstein.” Known as the “godfather of shock rock,” influencing generations of hard rock and metal artists, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011.

Cooper is also an avid golfer, radio host and actor, appearing in movies and TV shows like “Wayne’s World,” “Dark Shadows,” “Monk,” “That ‘70s Show” and “Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare.” He also performs in Hollywood Vampires with Johnny Depp and Joe Perry.

Cooper frequently brings his tours through Upstate New York, most recently playing the Empower FCU Amphitheater in Syracuse with Rob Zombie in September.
