The Rockwall Art League on Saturday will host a “Sip & Shop” event from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Chandlers Landing Yacht Club featuring great art, jewelry, crafts, wine, food, and family friendly activities. The event should provide shoppers and art supporters alike in and around Rockwall County looking for some amazing original art to purchase for home or office to find that perfect match.

The items presented by the Rockwall Art League are those of 16 local artists’ artwork. Chandler’s Landing is located at 501 Yacht Club Drive.

Established in 2000, the RAL’s stated purpose is to create a forum for area artists to share ideas, communicate and support one another, bring an awareness of fine art to the community and provide scholarships to support the efforts of talented high school students.

The RAL is a volunteer organization that began with a few individuals dedicated to the visual arts. Founding members recognized the importance that art plays on the strength and beauty of a community. The Rockwall Art League is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization and is supported in part by grants from the City of Rockwall hotel and motel tax.
