RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – There’s a new mission to unite the performing arts in Northern Nevada under one roof.
Rosine Bena from the Sierra Nevada Ballet has always dreamed of bringing the arts together, everything from ballet to theater to filmmaking to writing to music and more.
In 2024, that dream is one step closer to reality as Sierra Nevada Ballet partners with with Steinway Piano Gallery and Music School, Sierra School of Performing Arts, Silver State Storytellers, Dr. Jayson Weir, Dance PT Carri Cameron and local visual artists, to create the Northern Nevada Performing Arts Collective (NNPAC).
Bena and Lyric Burt from Silver State Storytellers stopped by Morning Break to share the vision with the community and begin raising funds for the new building.
This visionary collaboration aims to create an immersive experience for families and students, offering them the opportunity to explore various art forms in a dynamic, centralized location at 500 E. Moana Lane in Reno.
To make this dream a reality, NNPAC needs your support. They’re seeking to raise $50,000 for essential renovations to the new space. These funds will be used for crucial improvements, including upgraded bathrooms, new dressing rooms, flooring throughout the space (including sprung floors for the ballet studios), mirrors and other construction costs. They’ve set up a GoFundMe page with additional information about the dream and the layout of the new space.
