Rovio Entertainment Corporation, a Finnish mobile-first gaming company and creator of the Angry Birds brand, has joined forces with Raw Thrills and Play Mechanix to present a new arcade machine based on the Angry Birds franchise, available for family entertainment centres worldwide.
The companies call Angry Birds Boom a “Beak-busting, snout-smashing video redemption game with an explosive, competitive twist on the iconic Angry Birds gameplay.” IMG, Angry Birds’ licensing agency, facilitated the partnership.
Discover Angry Birds Boom! at IAAPA Expo Europe
Up to two players can launch Red and Chuck, the gravity-defying heroes of the Angry Birds universe, into physics-based, destructible landscapes in Angry Birds Boom! These realms are brimming with conspiratorial Bad Piggies and their overlords, King Pig and Foreman Pig.
Before the timer goes off, the players accumulate points by causing the most mayhem and confusion possible and discovering hidden prizes. The player with the highest score wins the most tickets and is dubbed the champion of pig-popping pandemonium.
The Angry Birds Boom! cabinet has a 65-inch interactive RGB LED display, colourful artwork of beloved Angry Birds characters, and force-feedback controllers with a Red and Chuck theme.
Attendees at this week’s IAAPA Expo Europe in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, will be able to discover the new game for themselves between 24 and 26 September at the Bandai Namco Amusement Europe booth (#8373). Angry Birds Boom! will also be exhibited at IAAPA Expo 2024 in Orlando, Florida, from 19 to 22 November.
Angry Birds Boom! will start to be manufactured and shipped by Raw Thrills and Play Mechanix in late October. The family-friendly game can now be ordered with any authorised Raw Thrills distributor globally.
Rovio also recently partnered with Toptracer, the world’s number 1 golf range technology, to launch a new interactive Angry Birds game mode at over 1000 Toptracer-enabled golf facilities.
