RSF Golf Club restaurant adds new chef

Just in time for the annual Thanksgiving Day feast, the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club has brought in Tommy Dimella as its new executive chef at the clubhouse restaurant. RSF Golf Club General Manager Rick Howard said Dimella was head and shoulders above the other applicants considered and will elevate the dining experience at the club.

Dimella brings more than 30 years of culinary experience to the new position.

After receiving his culinary arts degree from Johnson & Wales, he worked at Solana Beach’s Pamplemousse Grille as an executive chef. He traveled to Italy for a stage at Joia Naturale cuisine, a progressive vegetable-focused restaurant in the heart of Milan, and upon his return to San Diego he was director of culinary at The Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe, executive chef at the Del Mar Country Club, and director of operations at La Costa Glen in Carlsbad.

Most recently he was the corporate chef at Ballast Point Brewing.

“Tommy has quietly honed his craft, explored various cuisines and built a strong relationship with local food suppliers,” wrote Howard in a message to club members. “ We all look forward to his culinary expertise and to taking the dining experience at the club to new heights.”

The restaurant is open to all Rancho Santa Fe Association members.
