HAMPDEN, Maine (WABI) – RSU 22 held their first K-12 Art Show at Hampden Academy Wednesday and Thursday,
The two day show featured various art mediums from all different age groups.
The event took place at the same time as the middle school concerts, encouraging people to attend both.
Organizers say the arts program throughout RSU 22 is thriving with many students being involved in some way.
“I think it’s really important to have an art show because it just shows art is a very big form of expression and kind of can show your personality even in the smallest ways that other people might not understand, and I think that’s it’s nice to see how everyone can express themselves,” said 10th grade artist Ivy Davis.
“We really wanted to see our K through 12 programs all at one time together and just just really see the growth and the continuity throughout our community and hear the young voices from every age group,” explained visual arts teacher Adele Drake.
They hope to make this an annual event.
