According to a report issued late Saturday by a Washington-based research tank, there is no sign that Russian soldiers are gaining ground in their ongoing attempt to seize the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut. The Institute for the Study of War stated that Moscow had not made any confirmed gains on Saturday, but it looked like Russian troops and non-military Wagner Group units were still trying to attack the ground. The article stated that Ukrainian and Russian sources still talk about fierce fighting in the city, but it’s likely that Wagner Group members are getting stuck in urban areas like the AZOM industrial complex, which makes it harder for them to make big gains. According to the Associated Press, Yevgeny Prigozhin, the creator of the Wagner Group, stated on Telegram on Sunday that the situation in Bakhmut was “tough, really difficult, with the enemy battling for every meter.”
