Before his sad death in April, Paul Cattermole had just enough money to get by.
The member of S Club 7 was found dead at his home in Dorset on April 6. This was just a few months before the band got back together in October.
Since there was nothing strange found about his death, it was decided that Cattermole died of natural causes. Only 46 years old.
A new story says that the singer was in a lot of debt when he died and only left his loved ones £15,000, even though S Club 7 broke records when they were at their best.
A source told The Sun, “Paul was not in a good way before he died, and was not doing well financially. Although it is shocking that a group member would not be well-off, people who knew Paul might not be surprised by how little he left.”
He also didn’t leave a will, so the only way for his family to get money was through the reunion tour.
The band had previously said that they only made £150,000 a year, even though S Club sold millions of records and had brand endorsement deals and several TV shows.
Cattermole is also said to have tried to sell his two Brit Awards for £65,000, but the person who bid on them wouldn’t pay the money.
In a 2019 interview, the late singer talked about how angry he was that the executives kept most of the money while he and his friends “got paid a pittance.”
He also tried to get on reality shows like Dancing on Ice, Strictly Come Dancing, and The Jungle in order to make money.
