The decision to end the popular T.V. show S.W.A.T. has been changed, and it will now come back for its seventh and final season. Sources said that talks between C.B.S. and Sony Pictures Television, which co-produced the show, kept going after it was canceled.
Since S.W.A.T. has been doing well on C.B.S. on Friday nights for a while, the choice was made based on the money. In the last season, one of the show’s stars, Shemar Moore, will also be in charge of making the show.
Amy Reisenbach, president of C.B.S. Entertainment, and Katherine Pope, president of Sony Pictures Television Studios, put out a joint statement to tell people about the news. “We have listened to our viewers and their outpouring of passion for ‘S.W.A.T.,’ and we have agreed to renew it for a final season of 13 episodes to air during the 2023-2024 broadcast year.”
They went on to say, “‘S.W.A.T.’ has aired for six seasons on C.B.S. and garnered a devoted following. We are pleased that we found a way to bring it back and give closure to the show’s storylines and characters, which audiences deserve. Once again, we appreciate the talents and efforts of the cast, writers, producers, and crew and everyone who has contributed to the success of ‘S.W.A.T.’ We look forward to its return next season.”
