Marelli, a global automotive technology company, has appointed Saju Mookken as India Country Manager. Mookken, who has over 25 years of experience in the automotive industry, will lead Marelli’s strategic initiatives and growth in India. This appointment comes as India becomes the world’s third largest automotive market. Ravi Tallapragada, the previous Country Manager, will now focus on his role as President of Marelli’s Electronic Systems business globally.
An initiative to drive growth
Mookken will leverage his extensive experience, including nearly 20 years at Marelli, to guide the company’s operations in India. He will be responsible for local governance, business coordination, and employee engagement. Mookken will also maintain his role as regional Head of Propulsion Solutions in APAC, excluding China.

Experience
Prior to his time at Marelli, Mookken held a board position at Denso Group company. His responsibilities there included Finance, IT, Commercial & Sales, and Purchasing. Mookken is a qualified chartered accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Delhi University.
Ravi Tallapragada’s new push to Marelli’s Electronic Systems business
Ravi Tallapragada will now concentrate on his position as President of Marelli’s Electronic Systems business globally. This move allows him to focus on the company’s expansion in electronic systems, a vital area experiencing significant growth, particularly with the emergence of Software-Defined Vehicles. Tallapragada spent the previous two years as Country Manager in India, playing a key role in advancing the company’s operations in the country.
