Samsung Electronics Co. is set to release its latest fitness band, the Galaxy Fit3, on Wednesday in the Korean market, the company said on Tuesday.
Boasting a 40-millimeter display, a 45 percent increase from its predecessor, the new device offers enhanced information visibility on a single screen. The aluminum body guarantees durability while weighing only 18.5 grams, making it lighter.
With an ingress protection rating of IP68, the band is both waterproof and dustproof, allowing it to be used outdoors as well as withstand a pressure of 5 bar or a water column of 50 meters (5ATM). The battery life extends up to 13 days on a full charge and supports quick charging to reach 65 percent capacity in just 30 minutes.
The Galaxy Fit3 tracks over 100 pieces of exercise data, along with basic health monitoring functions such as sleep and stress monitoring. Fall detection and emergency features have also been added, with automatic calls providing location information when the band detects a fall and a speed dial by pressing the left button of the vessel five times to make an emergency call. There is also a remote control for the smartphone camera the band is linked to.
The Galaxy Fit3 is available exclusively through Samsung.com for 89,000 won ($65.73), and comes in gray, silver, and rose gold.
On the same day, Samsung Electronics also released a moving stand for 43-inch monitors to expand its lineup beyond smaller monitors.
Equipped with urethane wheels, the stand facilitates easy mobility without concerns about wear, tear, or noise. Paired with Samsung‘s smart monitors, it can be used in various ways in sectors ranging from work and learning to entertainment.
Samsung Electronics also presented a moving stand, compatible specifically with its 43-inch smart monitor. “We will continue to develop and offer products that cater to every household’s display needs,” the company said.
