DORSET — On the first weekend of December, The Inns of Dorset will host three days of joyful events celebrating the great Saint Nick’s visit to the historic and charming village.
Represented by renowned actor Rich Kringle and his wife, the Claus’ are making a return appearance after a wildly popular visit last year where they delighted families with children staying at The Dorset Inn and Barrows House. Those events were so well-received, the Inns have expanded the number of special activities where lodging guests and local families can engage with Santa and Mrs. Claus up-close and personally.
The Santa in Dorset weekend runs from Friday, December 6th through Sunday the 8th. It starts with a Welcome Reception Friday evening, with snacks and treats for the children, plus wine and cheese for parents. On Saturday, the highlight of the weekend is a Cookies and Cocoa Party with music and crafts, where children can make their own souvenir Christmas Ornament and families will have their own private visit with Santa. The weekend is capped off on Sunday by a special Holiday Brunch with Santa at the Dorset Inn followed by horse-drawn carriage rides through charming Dorset Village. In addition, there are performances of ELF – The Musical put on by the Dorset Players at the Playhouse on Friday evening as well as Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
The Inns are offering a special lodging package that includes the opening reception and Saturday party with Santa, along with two-night accommodations at the luxurious Barrows House or Dorset Inn with country breakfast each morning. Other events are optional for an additional charge and are open to the public.
