Sarah Ferguson ‘Remains in High Spirits’ After Being Diagnosed with Skin Cancer

Sarah Ferguson has apparently been diagnosed with skin cancer, just months after being treated for breast cancer.

The Duchess of York had a mole removed from her body, and later tests proved it to be a malignant melanoma, the most serious type of skin cancer.

This comes after the 64-year-old had breast cancer surgery last year, and people close to her say it has been a difficult time for the Duchess.

Sarah, Duchess of York’s spokeswoman stated that she has been diagnosed with malignant melanoma after being diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer this summer.

‘Her dermatologist asked that several moles were removed and analyzed at the same time as the Duchess was undergoing reconstructive surgery following her mastectomy, and one of these has been identified as cancerous.’

‘She is undergoing additional investigations to ensure that this was detected in its early stages. Clearly, another diagnosis so soon after treatment for breast cancer has been distressing, but the Duchess remains upbeat. She is undergoing further investigations to ensure that this has been caught in the early stages. Clearly, another diagnosis so soon after treatment for breast cancer has been distressing but the Duchess remains in good spirits. The Duchess wants to thank the entire medical team which has supported her, particularly her dermatologist whose vigilance ensured the illness was detected when it was. She believes her experience underlines the importance of checking the size, shape, color and texture and emergence of new moles that can be a sign of melanoma.’
