DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) – SARCOA is offering assistance to senior citizens interested in applying for the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP).
To be eligible for the program, applicants must be 60 years old or older and must not exceed the gross household income limits.
Those interested can call the SARCOA office at (334) 793-6843 or visit the office located at 1075 S. Brannon Stand Road.
“We do suggest our seniors sign up before May 1, because once the funds run out, then it’s no longer available for seniors, but we have kind of a ways to go,” said Deb Hodgett, SARCOA’s outreach coordinator.
The organization is also hosting multiple benefit screenings throughout the month of February. At these events, seniors can find out all assistance programs they qualify for and receive help with the applications.
