School board weighing growth, poverty rates, mental health in redistricting choice

Members of the Frederick County Board of Education expressed concern on Thursday about the impact of redistricting on poverty concentrations, school capacity and student mental health during a virtual meeting.

The board asked questions of the Frederick County Public Schools staff, aiming to better understand the four options on the table for a redistricting that could affect up to roughly 2,800 Frederick-area students.
