From the totally-quirky to the traditional, Scottsdale Arts continues a bustling lineup of holiday shows this week.
• “Assisted Living The Musical: The Home for the Holidays” plays Thursday, Dec. 14, through Sunday, Dec. 17, at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. This sequel to the hit “Assisted Living: The Musical” promises more fun at a twisted nursing home.
Tickets: $37.
• Jane Lynch’s “A Swingin’ Little Christmas” has one show only, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14. Actress, singer, playwright and author Lynch will be joined by Kate Flannery, Tim Davis and The tony Guerrero Quintet for a holiday show.
Tickets: $49 and up.
• There’s even a holiday version of “Trivia Night at SMoCA,” hosted by comedian Anwar Newton.
Tickets: $15.
• A “Memory Lounge” workshop by Kyllan Maney at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, will help participants create a unique ornament suitable for gift-giving. Memory Lounge is an arts program for people with mild to moderate memory loss and their care partners.
Tickets: $20/couple.
• The band Canadian Brass performs Christmas classics like “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and “Carol of the Bells” at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15.
Tickets: $39 and up.
• Mariachi Sol de Mexico presents Jose Hernandez’ “Merry-Achi Christmas” at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16. 2023, 3 p.m. The platinum-selling band will crank up holiday classics and favorites from the mariachi songbook.
Tickets: $44 and up.
• Another popular band, the Squirrel Nut Zippers, do a special “Christmas Caravan” show at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22.
