The Scream franchise’s executives are apparently trying to bring back Neve Campbell, Patrick Dampsey, and Courtney Cox for the next version of the slasher picture.
Spyglass sacked Melissa Barrera ahead of the filming of Scream 7 owing to her political views in the aftermath of the continuing Middle East war.
Jenna Ortega’s contract with the company was soon believed to have been terminated due to schedule difficulties with Season 2 of Netflix’s Wednesday.
In response to the outrage, the film’s director, Christopher Landon, stated on X, formerly Twitter: “Everything sucks. Stop yelling. This was not my decision to make.”
According to Variety, the cast of the next film is now set to include Campbell, who previously played in 2022’s Scream.
Meanwhile, Cox, who appears in every film in the series, is anticipated to return. Dampsey is also being considered as a main character.
The outlet hinted that Ortega and Barrera had yet to sign fresh commitments to feature in the seventh installment, noting that the duo had only signed up for two Scream flicks, the fifth and sixth.
